Training
The management of Chantete realized that the pool of properly trained machine operators is very small in Zambia and that this influences the company’s performance. To get our operators up to the correct standards and to qualify the people with a recognized certificate that they can use for employment in the future we approached Transvaal Training in SA to handle all our training needs and requirements. Transvaal Training has now registered a company in Zambia. (Zambia Modern Mining and Industrial Training Limited) Transvaal Training has been approved by Teveta and issues a national certificate for successful students. A record will be kept of operators trained and that will help as a reference for companies looking to employ an operator.

Community investment is most effective and lasting if it meets both business and social needs.
For that reason we are involved in a number of community based programs. The following social programs are in place:
1. Sara Rose Children Home –We provide nutritional support in the form of supplying food on a monthly basis.
2. Kansanshi and Kitwe Cycling Club –We support and participate in all the local cycling events in Solwezi and Kitwe. We also provide cycling equipment, clothing and expertise to the disadvantaged participants.
3. Kitwe Animal Welfare Society (KAWS) –We pay the monthly salary of a veterinary doctor who treats the local animals and assists with health problems that animals spread.
4. Statutory Official Government Days –We participate and assist in financial donations in all the Government gazetted Celebration Days such as International Labour Day, Youth Day and Aids Day etc.
5. Northern Technical College and Copperbelt University –We undertake to assist in the attachment of the last year graduates doing their Heavy Equipment Repairs Technician Diploma in doing their practical experience for 8 months.
6. Conservation Lake Tanganyika –We contribute in the form of donations towards the preservation of Lake Tanganyika and the sustainable benefit of its inhabitants through a partnership with the community and Government.
7. Zambian Wildlife Authority –Chantete is actively involved with ZAWA to achieve excellence in wildlife estate management by developing innovative approaches and partnerships that encompass best practice, and complete transparency and integrity.
